Getting Organized for Internet Marketing

Internet marketing attracts so many people because it represents financial and personal freedom.  It’s possible to work anywhere.  You decide what hours you want to work.  You can dress-up, or down – it’s entirely up to you.  Depending on your business, you can work as few or as many hours a day as you desire.  If you’re successful, you can take as many vacations as you feel like. When you get to that point, the freedom is incredible!  But one thing newer online marketers experience is the importance of having a basic business structure; because without that, their progress can slow down and their business suffers.  Keep reading to see how to accelerate past all those problem areas.

Decide to give your attention to email reading/writing maybe twice during your day.

As time goes on you will get both e-mail and “snail” mail about your business. Devote a couple of thirty minute blocks to checking and responding to and filing your mail. This allows you to maintain your focus on business and prevents any important mail from slipping through the cracks. You know IM related emails need to be addressed no more than a day or two after receiving them. This kind of organization keeps you focused on your business tasks and relieves you of feeling like every email is urgent and needs your immediate attention.

Get a handle on your emails and organize them.

But your personal email organization does not need to be elaborate. Just assign each client to their own folder, then keep all your emails from clients in their respective folders. This is great for your inbox because only emails that still need some attention will be there. You might even create a folder for each year so that you can track how much business you do with each client in a given year.

Write down appointments on your calendar and in your schedule as soon as you make them. Set up e-mail reminders for appointments (both online and off) that aren’t for a while. You probably know already, but if you delay writing down your appointments you run the risk of forgetting all about it. No one wants to forget about an important conference call or meeting that’s important to business. Writing them down as soon as you make them will keep this from happening.

You’ll find that organizing your business will increase your profits. This will only force you to be more efficient and smooth running. If you organize your business, you’ll find it’s much easier to track everything.
